We Condemn US Aggression and Threats against Cuba
The Democratic Organisation of Iranian Women condemns US threats and actions against the people of Cuba.
Since the victory of the Cuban people’s revolution and the banishment of Batista in 1959, US imperialism has done its best to undermine it and to impose its will on its small and defiant neighbour.
The Trump administration’s reinstatement of punitive and illegal sanctions, arbitrarily putting Cuba on the list of terrorist states, imposing a ban on trade and travel with the country have exerted maximum pressure on Cuba’s economy.
US government’s acts of cold-blooded killings, the kidnapping of the Venezuelan President and his wife during in a military operation which claimed the lives of dozens of Cubans, and the brazen act of piracy and taking over Venezuela’s oil tankers have exacerbated the situation for Cuba’s security and economy.
The United States hopes for the total breakdown of the power plants, civil and medical services, and health and nutrition in the country.
We condemn the illegal sanctions against Cuba,
We condemn Cuba’s designation by US as a terrorist state, and the trade and travel restrictions on the country,
The world order that relies on the US as the law enforcer, has been proved to be nothing but a bully’s paradise. We condemn these acts and stand with the people of Cuba, alongside Cuban women, in defence of their sovereignty and independence.
